Memorising Scriptures

‘Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.’ Psalm 119 v 11

You might be wondering ‘why do I need to memorise scriptures? I always got a Bible handy.’

The truth is, you need the word in your heart so you can use it to exalt the name of the LORD, keep the faith during trials, triumph over all temptations and ensure we aren’t conforming to the patterns of this world.

Footnotes: Matthew 4:1 The Greek for tempted can also mean tested.

Matthew 4:6 Psalm 91:11,12 // Matthew 4:7 Deut. 6:16 //

Matthew 4:10 Deut. 6:13 // Matthew 4:4 Deut. 8:3
